Glowing spark plugs?
At night when I pop my hood I can see the glow through the ceramics of my spark plugs on each fire. It appears as a dim flashing from each plug. Is this normal? I've just never seen this on someone elses motor.
is it happening on all of them? are they OEM plugs? I've not personally ever seen this either. I do recall a few years ago some manufactuar sold clear plug wires and a clear distributor cap, and you could watch the electric activity while the engine was running with the hood raised. it put on a real show at night time, and made trouble shooting a little easier. never seen plugs do it tho. if you can hear a clicking or popping sound associated with the ilumination, I'd suspect faulty spark plugs or faulty insulators on your spark plug wires. good luck and let us know what you come up with. it's a wierd one...
It sound as if the top of the spark plug wire connector is not making a good connection on the plug and it is arcing, I would pull off the plug wires and see how tight it snaps on the plug

Alumina is transparent in its virgin crystal form
(sapphire). Being amorphous or microcrystalline
makes it look white but you can still conceivably
transmit some light (with a lot of scattering loss).
Once they get good and carboned up it won't be
a problem anymore
