Default LS6 intake swap

Quick question..... Will I need a tune??? I already have the mods in the sig and was wondering if I would have to get a retune for this swap.

Thanks

I ran my ls6 intake without a tune for about a year. It ran good. The only reason I held off on the tune was because I was planning a cam swap.

No, you don't have to have one. Not a big deal.

You don't need the LS6 valley cover but it is a nice mod to do while the intake is off. It eliminates much of the existing external LS1 PCV system which is a plus. The newer cover are pretty reasonable on eBay.

The stock ls1 coolent lines are actually better than the ls6 and theirs no need at all to replace them. Shave the fins on the bottom of the.intake and save the money. Its a ls1 search "fact"

i installed my ls6 intake, let it idle for like 10 min and drove it a couple miles and the car adjusted itself...it drove a little rough for a few minutes and then POOF! ran smooth as butter

I just installed a ls6 intake and had no issues. I had a tune already like you so you will have no problem. shave the fins off. It is very easy and you will save yourself over 100 dollars. Just take a nice sharp wood chisel and a hammer and they pop off very easily. Just be carefull thats all. If I could do it you could

Its easier to sand by hand...60grit...120...400..1000grit...then prime paint..(duplicolor) turned out perfect

i used 100 grit on the bottom of my intake after knocking the fins off. works well.

and the car shouldn't do anything abnormal at any point for any reason after the ls6 intake swap. pretty sure gm used the exact same tune on cars with ls1 intakes.

my car ran lean as hell just from adding a ram air and long tubes. it was pulling 6* of timing and had an afr of 14.7 as low as 2800 rpm, which got worse as rpm increased.

I used a makita 4" grinder with a sandpaper flapper wheel and it worked great. I did this because I read where someone here tried to chisel them off and broke the bottom of their intake and I didnt want to chance it. I already ahd the grinder and flapper wheel anyways.
