Default supporting mods for h/c

Well finally got a new daily and want to do some work on the car.I'm getting some 243 heads and having them ported idk what cam I want yet but I want to make about 450rwhp

My current mods are a lid tune stage 3+ clutch edelbrock lts and 3" tds

What supporting mods will I need to make my goal? Can I get away with a ls1 intake?

Also how can I freshen this motor up a bit it has 179000 miles

You will need a LS6 intake at minimum....preferably a FAST intake though

I don't have the budget for fast but I could do a ls6 .....doesn't yhe ls6 delete the egr

Yes it gets rid of the egr. Id get lifters/trays, an ud pulley, bigger injectors, 228+ cam (at least) and a fast 92 and throttle body. If you're looking for big numbers and want it done right ya gotta be willing to fork over the coin. your heads will be the biggest factor in your hp goals. Id send them to a sponsor for a good port job.

personally id rather have a good performing set up over a high hp #. you can shove a donkey dick cam in there and get big numbers or a decent cam and have great drive ability and street manners.

Well my buddy just graduated from sam and has the heads he will sell me the heads and port for $300
and I want to do it right just budget minded ....ill look for a fast If I can get one for a decent price of not ls6
as for a cam I still don't know I've been looking at specs I like the ms3

hate to break it to you but you are going to need a fast intake to hit your goal. its going to be hard with a ls6 man and isnt worth the money if you are going to get a fast one day anyways. You are going to need a decent size cam in the 230 duration and some good flowing heads too.

Do you have a cam and heads picked out yet?

The heads will be ported 243s and I haven't picked a cam I want a agressive cam with still some power under the curve for on the street although street manners are not Important

We have made 440-460rwhp with LS6 intakes, but it takes a good set of heads to do it.

Example:
346 LS1
Stock Bottom End
TFS 220cc As Cast cylinder heads 61cc chambers
.040" Cometics
LS6 intake
Custom Tick Performance camshaft 234/239 .612"/.621" 112+3
1x3/4" headers with 3" true duals
Ported throttle body

Made 448rwhp/407rwtq
