Is it a cat-back? What's up guys!
I bought my SS in august and it came with at least a magnaflow muffler but I'm not sure if it's a cat-back or just axle back. Is there an easy way of telling it's a cat-back or just muffler/tips?

Go to Magnaflows web-site, look at what they have and compare to yours.

A cat back is a muffler lol. I guess the only way to tell if it was just tips would be do you have the stock muffler and not an aftermarket one? If you have a magnaflow muffler then it is a catback.

Just to be clear it has a magnaflow muffler, I'm wondering if its the cat-back system with new piping from the cat or if the previous owner just threw in the muffler with stock pipe between the muffler and cat.
Guess I'll have to get under the car and try measuring the pipe.

A cat back is the piping from behind the Y pipe, you can throw some aftermarket resonators in there but speaking in terms of websites that sell "catbacks" under the catback category, what they are selling is the muffler, piping, and tips.

Easy thing to do would be to just look at a picture of how a stock SS/WS6 catback looks and compare it to what you have on your car. Not just the muffler but the piping, tips, etc., If you do this I think it should be pretty clear whether or not the catback is stock or not.

A stock I-pipe and Over The Axle pipe would be 2.75" diameter (assuming your SS didn't come with the optional SLP exhaust), an aftermarket "catback" will have a 3" I-pipe and OTA pipe.
