Default Tune issue or dying fuel pump?

So I got my car about a month ago. Has 140k miles on it and as far as I can tell has kooks 1 3/4 to ory and the slp dual/dual. It's been tuned a little but not really sure what all has been changed in the tune. The problem is that it's hard to start but only when it's warm. Cold starts are fine. Warm starts take 2 or sometimes 3 tries before it starts and then there is a smell of it running rich for a few seconds.

I'm thinking its fuel pump but hoping its tune related.

Try this. Next time you go to start it warm turn the key to on but don't start it then do the same thing again but start it. If it's starts up normal its the fuel pressure regulator or pump if not its something else

I am having the same issue. I have a 2000 z with about that mileage. I replaced my fuel pump 3 months ago and last month I played around with the tune. It has been doing this for about 2 weeks. I am going to change the regulator this weekend and see if my problem goes away.

I have tried letting the pump prime once before starting it but I will try the method you suggested. I would turn the key on wait a few seconds and then start but that didn't help any. I'll try shutting it off first next time.

I'd recommend opening the hood, taking your IAT sensor
out of wherever it's mounted, pour a cup of cool water
over it, shake it dry and put it back and close it up and
try starting it. If it's suddenly better, then relocating the
IAT sensor is for you.

That's an interesting suggestion. I never thought about it before actually. Right now the IAT is mounted in the stock Blackwing lid just like it left SLP so I wouldn't think that would be an issue?

*EDIT* I have tried the suggestion above about turning the key off and on. I tried it on two separate starts and both times the car fired right up like it should. Not sure if its coincidence or if its really showing the true problem. I am pretty sure its a dying fuel pump, however.

On the Blackwing lid, the IAT is positioned in an
unfortunate "backwater" area that sees negligible
flow across the sensor, yet is heated by the engine
air bay by wall conduction.

SLP is not some kind of brain trust. They just make
stuff to sell to people who don't know where else to
shop.
