Default Custom True Dual Setup

So I recently purchased two 18" sweet thunder mufflers and a x-pipe like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-1-2-2-5-Crossover-X-Pipe-/170553669545?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27b5ca77a9&vxp=mtr. My question is, since I have bbk headers which already has a 2.5 Y-pipe wouldn't it be possible to just weld the x pipe in place of where the y was on the y-pipe? Then I could just get the muffler shop to make me some turn downs and buy some hangers from them. The exhaust shop wants 100 bucks to do this set-up, I figured I could save that money and do it myself; I don't see how it could be that difficult to fab it up myself. Any thoughts?

I think I'm probably going to go over the axle eventually. But right now I'm going to do dumps, i'd much rather save the cash for a cam . Anyone got any pictures where they used their ORY to make true duals?

Can check in the true dual section, really its just cutting your y,adding a x,and running them back, dumped duals sound good but imo get annoying fast, drone is pretty bad im not going to lie,

Does having the turn downs facing the side help any with the drone? That was my plan for helping on the drone a little bit.

Well if you have good fab skills go for it. But dont use this stamped X , make your own X just make a Y but it to the end of your Y pipe and your there. This stuff is usally best left to highly skilled exhaust pros that do custom bending. Oh and cut the mouth back to get 3" to 3 1/2 " and you will have a much better X ,than that stamped X.
