Need a cam that makes good torque down low
I grow weary of my Texas Speed cam Texas Speed Torquer V2 232/234 .595"/.598" Camshaft. Apart from my 3000 stall converter, everyone says go with 3.73's but I like my highway gears.
What cam is great for torque and low speed drivability? I assume something with a sub 22* duration and will work with the trusty...or not so trusty 4l60e and 3.15 gears.

3.15?? Stock is 3.23 or 2.73 for autos...cant go wrong with the off the shelf comp 224/230...very nice little cam. Great low and midrange power, just big enough to keep a little top end. Seen a few around here do awesome. One of my friends runs that cam in a stock lq4 with 243 heads and runs mid 10's in the 1/4. His car only weighs 3000 lbs though.

So what's the lsa on your Trq V2..?
Tick Performance "SNS" torqueMAX Stage 1 Camshaft (3* 0verlap)

or go custom and get a 223(lsl)/226(lxl) 110+0 (4.5* overlap) .

Comp cam 223/231 610-617 112 lsa. I'm running one on my 99ss. Nice choppy idle street friendly, I put down over 400rwhp with full bolt ons h/c/I. I bet that comp 227/235 ^ would be a good one too.

3000 is too low for that cam. Needs a 3600 minimum.
If you don't want to do that, swap to something with an IVC of around 42 degrees. Also, I'd stay under 8 degrees of overlap for good street manners. So you have the following options that meet those criteria:
227/230 110+1 (LSL/LXL)
226/230 110+1 (LXL/LXL)
227/231 111+1 (LSL/LSL)
Futral also has a grind that would work well:
F11 - 228/232 112+4

if you REALLY want to pick up low-mid range feel, pull the heads and have them milled for more compression
gears would also help but you don't want to change them...
I would expect to get the results you want by swapping cams you will need a fairly drastic change. You will also have to have the car retuned for the new cam.
