Default Remove evap?

Is the evap system good for anything or can I delete it? Street car and i've never had an issue with it other than it takes up a few pounds and its ugly.

Is it a fire risk to just have a it venting under the hood with a filter on it?

I don't think it would be, but to me I would rather not vent it under the hood, but I worry to much.

I pulled the line out and vented it in the rear of the car. But you could always add a longer hose to the hard line and run it in the wheel well or something so you don't have the little filter laying on the intake manifold.

Screw all this half-assin', relocate it! There's a write-up on another site you can find by searching where the guy dissected the stock lines and moved the solenoid to where the AIR pump used to be. No CEL, no venting flammable vapor around hot surfaces, etc. I followed that write-up this morning and I'm almost done. I should have had it knocked out in about an hour, but I didn't have enough 5/16" and 3/8" fuel line hose to finish so now I have to wait til tomorrow to go get more line But the write up made it a piece of cake, I wish I had done this earlier!

Edit: Whoops, didn't read the part about you wanting to reduce weight. If you took out all the stock line from the back to the front, yeah you'd lose weight. If it's the aesthetic part, relocate it.

I removed all of mine about a year ago and added a breather on the fuel tank. No gas smell and shed some weight and cleaned up under the hood.
