Making my own lid....
my question to everyone is... does anyone have one I can take measurements off of? does height play a huge factor on performance?
I will be making a lid out of stainless steel and continue piping all the way to the charger and deleting the MAF as well.
some feedback would be greatly appreciated since i'm going into this almost blind.
what hood do you have? I made it out of carboard 1st and profiled the front and back the the hood, so its only touching to 1/8 away. Think I took the rad out, and or the fans, the WP, air dam, and my lower ducting going to the bottem of the lid. and put back the lower airbox and crawled up behind the rad. in front of the motor with a light and marked the templets as trimming them.
I made the base of the lid with alum angle iron to make the square frame, used a bridgeport to profile the front part to the stock lower one, (copied my SLP lid) and were the clips go. welded tabs on the back were it slids in. And sheet metal the sides and top off that. I would use do it that way again, make the square frame and work off that.
