Default Tsp catted Y-Pipe problems...

This thing does not fit! No matter what the guys at the shop try it doesnt fit at all... Makes no sense! Putting it on pacesetter coated longtubes.

I paid $360 for a y-pipe with no o2 bungs and its atleast 3" off..

Any ideas?

Its hard to tell by the pic so I could be wrong here. It looks like your cat back is welded. If that's the case then it probably goes back farther than the stock setup did.

This is exactly why I opted to add a FM merge to my Pacetter ORY (Pacesetter long tubes) instead of doing the TSP ORY

I sure thought that the driver side cat was further back, like in this photo.

Had the same problem and that's how it was eventually solved. Except now my cat gets scrapped all the time now. I need a better solution. Op, let me know if your guys find a way to fix it without losing too much clearance.

LOL... Have they tried putting it together right? Looks like they've got the pipe that connects to your header stuck into the merge collector. I'd start looking for a new shop to take your car to.

The first time I held my tsp up to my hookers I thought it wasn't even close on one side, then I realized it was upside down

A complete picture would allow us to see exactly whats going on. From what I can see in that picture though, it looks like its installed incorrectly. The driver side cat goes down onto the merge.

I always heard cats need to be as close the motor as possible to operate efficiently. The shop may not have considered the drivers side cat needed to be positioned so far away. Has anyone verified if the cats will function properly in that location?

It's not supposed to have any bungs -- they're in the header collectors.

no ones had problems with it, theyve made it like that for a long time. but your right, I just realized it as well. all other companies like ARH cat is located by the collector.

+1. You have the pipes flipped around. The piece you have connected to the Y should be on the driver's side header and the piece you have on the header should be flipped around and connected to the Y.

Either way, that thing was garbage. I had one and it fit like crap no matter what I did. I got a Kooks Y and while the merge isn't as good, it fits like a glove.
