I would highly suggst the SLP loudmouth 1 if your not planning on headers or a y pipe. This thing was a piece of cake to install. It gave a nice tone at idle and in the low rpm's but it will talk when you get on the car. I like the magnaflows too but imo they are deff a quiter sounding exhaust. I wanted loud with good tone so i went with the slp lm1. all stainless steel, 7 years later mine still looks like new. it was cheap (around 400 from maryland speed). I would look into it if I were you, I had absolutlely no complaints about it and have gotten a lot of compliments on it. plus inside the cab it never gave me an annoying drone.heres a old video but the car is completley stock other than a slp lm1

I have the stainless Flowmaster welded into the stock system and it sounds and runs great. I have no idea why people say the Flowmaster isn't good because my car runs like a scalded cat!

sure your not just thinking that from the butt-dyno? A flowmaster is still better than stock but there are a lot of other options out there that flow better. Think theres a flowmaster and couple other exhaust systems dyno graph on here somewhere that showed that.

It's narrowed down to Magnaflow, Hooker Aerochamber or Dynomax Ultraflow. Between those three, what's the vote? No plans for headers, y pipe or catback. Which gives the best sound/performance with stock manifolds and cats in your opinion?

My borla sounded really deep and toned when the car was stock and still sounds pretty good with it modded up and cammed. However, if you don't feel like spending $800+ on an exhaust, go with the SLP Loudmouth 1 you won't regret it, and when you do feel like doing some mods, it is loud as a mother ******

FYI, Borla does offer a muffler (Borla #40474) that can be used to replace the factory one, but it a very expensive muffler. It'll run you $285 through Summit Racing. If you can find it for a lot less somewhere or can get past the high price, then this is the muffler you want!

One more thought...After numerous youtube videos and a bunch of research, I've now been looking into a "bullet" style muffler. Again, don't want a catback system and the car has stock converters and manifolds. Magnaflow looks like something may work, there are just so many styles and sizes, not sure which one to look at. Any experiences with these? I think somebody said they install somewhere before the rear axle? So, is a pipe just welded into the stock muffler location between the 2 pipes? This may give me the sound I'm looking for...maybe. Thanks once again for any info!

The easiest solution if you don't mind losing the dual tailpipes, is to buy a Magnaflow #14419 bullet muffler(4" dia., 14" case L., 3" in/out), a 3"dia. 90* mandrel bend and a section of 3" dia. strait pipe to use as a tail pipe. With all stainless steel the Magnaflow muffler, 90* Hooker header bend (FLO-MB300900), and 4' straight section of Summit racing 3" exhaust pipe(SUM-640130-1); total: $173.47 . Now if you don't want a full length tail pipe then $138.38 will do it, minus the install cost of course.

Thanks for all the info and opinions...I'm 99% sure I'm ordering a Hooker Areochamber muffler. I like the feedback I've read on sound and performance on a stock exhaust. Just wish it was stainless! Oh well, hope I like it!
