Default Best sounding muffler on stock exhaust?

On my '02 SS, the exhaust system is all stock except for the crapmaster muffler that is rattling and coming apart inside. I want to replace it with something else. I really like the way the it sounds, but this is the 2nd one that has came apart on me. So, what's it gonna be? I've read a lot good/bad things about the Hooker and Magnaflow, those seem to be the most popular. Open to opinions. I want a good deep rumble at idle and a tough sound on acceleration (muffler only). I do not play to do headers, y-pipe, etc...keepin' it stock. Thanks!

GMMG. look around for someone selling theirs. Or you can buy the muffler tubes from madhammer and save a lot of money and build it in yourself. The Magnaflow is nice too. But i have loved my GMMG for 7 years and counting.

I went the same route, good choice if you're keeping the rest stock.

Sounds nice! Is that a catback system? Don't really see a muffler there! I checked SLP and other than a catback system, all I see is single in/out bullet style mufflers.

Also, on the Magnaflow, I went to the website and see a few different style mufflers. Is there a certain muffler you prefer? Can't remember right off hand, the '02 is a 3" in and 2.5" out correct? Thanks again for the replies.

The muffler is a bullet style, goes in front of the axle next to the driveshaft.

Put a magnaflow or stock muffler with a cutout in the I pipe right before it goes over axle

I like the Borla catback (closed plate), LM1 with a Borla XR1 or Magnaflow bullet in place of the SLP bullet.

Heard the GMMG before and SLP TOTL but both are very pricey or hard to find. If

I am about to change my LM2 resonator for a classic chambered exhaust power stick.

Thanks again for all the suggestions/opinions. I STILL can't decide. The more I read, the more I'm confused. Back in the day, when I first got the car new, I was just "throw a Flowmaster on it!" Now I know more and realize every little bit helps. I don't want to go quieter than the Flowmaster, yet what I'm finding now is that a chambered muffler (Flowmaster) sounds more aggressive than a straight design (Magnaflow #12267)??? The search continues...Magnaflow, Hooker, Dynomax and Flowmaster. What to do, what to do? I'll let you all know what I decide and how it works out.

Flowmasters do sound really nice, but apparently they dont flow well. Plus they are pretty loud inside the cabin. Not a nice DD feature.

And to make things even more difficult, borla catbacks sound really nice with stock exhaust system. Its currently what i have on right now after selling my GMMG.
