MadFirehawk86,

Are the tips angled out at 45*? I can't understand the drone and the smell having ran them myself...

Any pics of your setup? Maybe we can offer some pointers.

Ill take some pics and post them up tomorrow...Ill be all ears for pointers. The mufflers have no tips and they are bullet mufflers...not sure on the brand. I just purchased the vehicle and the previous owner didnt give much info on the exhaust other than the longtubes are some old unknown brand.

There's your first issue. Put some turndowns on the end of the mufflers so the exhaust gases are directed at the ground and won't waft into the cockpit like they will if they just blow straight out.

You may want to check for leaks too.

Why this is the gayest comment I've heard up to date!!
You hate them for dd? Why?
Alot will agree that driving an aggressive sounding ls1 is something to appreciate.
Since you can't pop the hood when a new stang or new camaro pulls up...its nice to let them hear it. This isn't grandpas car....this is a end of production muscle car.
That whole smelling the exhaust **** is over rated, unless you sit in your car while its at idle for 5 minutes in your garage. I've sat in too many cammed cars and you can't smell **** outside..
This is how an ls1 is to supposed to sound..I know its just my opinion but wtf??

LOL I knew I would grab some attention...my car is running rich for some reason and no I dont completely blame the exhaust I'm in the process of finding the issue (reference my post in the external engine forum we are in now)

I do love the sound...there is nothing comparable in my opinion, but this exhaust rattles panels like crazy inside of my car, but also at the same time it puts a huge grin on my face as I accelerate onto the interstate with the pedal down as i haul *** by a prius or honda at full bore.

Im a very practical type of person Im not saying a true dual exhaust cannot be practical what I am saying is my particular true dual setup is obnoxiously loud and Ill post pics/vid up so you guys can critique it.

If any of you are looking for long Sweet Thunder mufflers, I have a pair that are 30" long, stainless steel, 3" inlet 3" outlet, basically brand new (I used them for one day). If you are interested, first measure underneath your car and then contact me.

I should create a for sale thread but I've been too lazy. I put them on once and they sounded good, but I needed to trim the exhaust a bit to make them fit better. I ended up getting rid of the true duals before I put them back on, so now they've been sitting in my closet.

Here is a link to what I bought: http://www.shopsweetthunder.com/Stai...r-CMS3025R.htm

Its cool its cool...that sounds more practical. I wasn't happy with my duals at first...then I cammed it.
Nothing like that loopy chop cruising in town. And the fact that I have to rev it more because of the high stall...really puts a smile on my face

First take off the bullets and put on a real muffler, if you want to reduce the exhaust noise. Then put turn downs on the end of the mufflers pointing the tip down and out away from the car. The turn down tips will make a huge different in how exhaust feels and sounds inside the car. I drove mine home from the exhaust shop without the turn downs it was miserable with the exhaust sounds bouncing off the ground and underside of the car.

Ok here are the pictures I promised. Again, I have no clue what brand ANY of this exhaust is...the x pipe looks custom and the mufflers and headers have no stamps or tags or anything. Contemplating going through the whole dang thing with new stuff.

I'd suggest a pair of Magnaflow 14419's with turndowns. Angle them to 45* towards the rear tires.

It appears you have Dynomax bullets or an imitation of same.

I like this setup a lot...it looks great! Are those Magnaflows? Would you mind elaborating on your setup? Muffler part number?
