Default Phab Exhaust

Took a risk and purchased the Phab Exhaust from the bay. Price was $399. Everything looks well put together and extremely high quality. Wish the pipes were a true 3" but still a good buy. Purchased on Wednesday, arrived Today.

Its basically a loudmouth clone with corsa clone tips. Figured I would post some pictures for other ls1tech members that are on the fence. I will be putting it on my 1998 Z28. The tips are staggered( I think thats the correct term). One is shorter than the other on each.

Its 2.75 inch ID out of the Y pipe. Most of it is 3 inch. The bullet is anyones guess. Mine does not match the one shown in the picture but seems nice. I may end up hacking it out and installing something else to limit the rasp and noise.

Sadly I will be waiting until march to install it

Yeah that y pipe looks pretty iffy lol. I would prly put a borla xr1 in place of that muffler but the system looks good. Id like to contact them and see if they offer different muffler options

I am curious why you would trade the duals out?

I had a hard time picking between the two.

I have duals right now myself and want to go back to a catback. the duals are nice and deep and wot they are crazy loud but I just miss the sound of my corsa catback. it was a lot different sounding even at idle I just liked the higher crisper pitch(best way I can describe it) just sounded way meaner. I got rid of the corsa because I hated the rasp but I think I will just deal with it.

well at first i was just caught up in crazy loud attention getting exhaust, was also thinking of the better flow of duals for horsepower, i had them on pretty much all summer, and now i have a $500 rockford fosgate speaker system to drown them out haha. I guess I'd rather just keep it mild, they sound nice and deep at idle and loud at pretty much any RPM, sound great at WOT, clearance wasn't an issue.

I am going to get this exhaust put in this week hopefully, what kind of clamps are best?

The fat style or the u style?

I want NO leaks and something that can come apart when my trans blows up.

Yes I got this setup and it is on my 98 Z28 right now. Everything went together perfect with no issues, shipping was good, only thing that sucks is the rasp but I knew that going in.

I am waiting until its warmer to install tubular k member, a arms, and stainless headers. The Tips are NOT slip fit, but are very nice.

Post your pics here so we can have one clean thread for people to find when they search google. lol

This is what my car currently sounds like:

I'm running pretty much that same exhaust set-up, on my '02 WS6, except I dont have a bullet in the i-pipe. No muffler at all, all straight pipe, and I love it.

Yea that is a bit raspy... Id experiment with mufflers or add catalytic converters to dull the rasp down a bit.

may try a borla xr1 that a buddy has, or a cat, or live with it for a bit and have fun then put a small muffler on it.

Until the 4 feet of snow in my yard melts, its stuck on jackstands. lol

Here is the result of my new exhaust system. Missing the tips but everything else is installed. I have speed engineering race headers as well. Don't mind the drivers door issues, waiting on parts in the mail.
