Are you going to eventually have serious enough horsepower for 1 7/8 primaries? Are you wanting straight race headers?

That aside, it seems that most all LT headers of the same size produce near the same numbers on a dyno. So what you're paying more for is fit and finish. TSP? Their Y pipe is very nice, being in 4 pieces helped it slide right in place.

My hookers weren't to bad to install. If i had the coin I would have gone with kooks, but if your dead between these two I would go with TSP.

Don't waste your time with the pacesetters. Their good don't get me wrong, but tsp's are stainless and are 1 7/8 so it's a win win. But if you wanna spend a little more get the kooks.

I have a set of Dynamaxx 1 3/4 with Y pipe in good used condition and they fit nicely. With 2 sets of Catalytic converters. 1 set is open.

A 402 popped 482 rwhp with them through the Cats.

I would go with stainless TSP's.

Nothing wrong with the pacesetter design, but if you going to do it, do it once and be done with it.

I don't think Pacesetters are stainless, so I agree: TSP 1 7/8".

tsp will be better , another cheap option are bbk chrome longtubes. i have them 379 shipped with a catless y and the fit is amazing . downside 1 3/4 and a 2.5" y pipe.

i doubt for a daily driver theres any advantage going with 1 7/8 over 1 3/4 feel free to post dyno results to prove it. dont forget to factor in ground clearance, my jethots / same as hookers have decent clearance.

There's been threads-a-plenty concerning this debate.

i missed the link in your post if it was there when i first looked. thx ps while i repsect TSP they are trying to sell product & they could play around w combos until they get one that proves their point, im still skeptical i could just swap my 1 3/4 headers for 1 7/8 and be guaranteed a 7 rwhp gain. cheers.

No problem. I edited the post and added the link. 1 7/8" support your modifications better than 1 3/4". And stainless will last.

Same dyno / tuner only thing that changed was going from Kooks 1 3/4" to Kooks 1 7/8" headers. This was after a touch up tune where more fuel was added....previous dyno was after a tune also. No ground clearance issues, the collector size doesn't change. A 20rwhp 15rwtq increase, notice I lost nothing down low. I had H/C/I/E already so this shows where the bottle-neck was.

Don't waste your time and $$ with 1 3/4" headers like I did.

Play around with combos? Other than a Fast intake it was a stock LS1. Now they could have cheated the tune but I think TSP is better than that.

thx 4 posting your dyno results, i will add that my skeptisizm comes from the book ls1 dyno proven perf when they showed a grannettelli MAF gain 13 rwhp. they did that by tuning the A/F ratio to 12:5 then adding a part that would lean it out into the sweet spot. not saying thats what TSP did. i wont post anymore on this subject. thx
