Default Steam Line to Water Pump Question

I would like to route the steam line to the low pressure side of the water pump. I have tapped the water pump for 3/8 and 1/2 NPT where the heater lines are located. Anybody know which one is the low pressure side? Does it matter if I plug the other one (high pressure side)?

In this pic the blue fitting is 3/8 NPT and the brass is 1/2 NPT

Can anyone confirm the low pressure side is the bigger port?

What would designate low and high? I guess I'm not u derstanding the question. They both go to the heater, one would push, or one would pull. My understanding was the steam hose went to the highest part of the cooling system. What's your overall design plans?

By "low pressure" I mean I would like to know which one pulls. I was thinking installing a barbed fitting it to the one that pulls and connecting the steam line. I will not have a port on the radiator where the line is sometimes connected.

Since I am not going to have a heater I would really like to use one of the ports that I recently tapped.

I would guess that the larger one is the return port. Typically, as in with AC and power steering, the return or suction hose/port is bigger, pressure hose/port is smaller.

Looks like you are running a "truck" pump...this is how I ran mine...

Regardless of what you do...I would try and stay higher than those heater hose ports for your steam line exit.
