Default Exhasut dilemma for cam swap.

Hey everyone- So I am about to do a cam and converter swap (228r & Yank SS3600) and kind of stuck on how I want to handle my exhaust set up. As much as I love a loud car, I have gotten to a point were it would be nice to be quiet again on certain occasions.

So here is the dilemma, do I put my stock muffler back on or would adding two more bullet mufflers (3 total including LM2 muffler) be quiet enough??

Current set up:
BBK LTs > Y pipe w/ high flo cats > Loudmouth 2 catback > CME

Which set up with cam?
- BBK LT > Catted Y > E-cutout > (reducer 3"-2.75") > Stock catback> CME

-or-

- BBK LT> Catted Y > E-cutout > LM2 muffler> Bullets before 90* bends CME

Opinions?

Thanks in advance!

I'd install a Borla XR-1 #40085 in place of the SLP muffler.

You could also do a Magnaflow 14419 muffler in place of the SLP

The Magnaflow #14419 isn't going to quiet it down enough to consider it quiet, but he could go with a Magnaflow #12867 with is the same size as the Borla XR-1 #40085.

Would replacing the LM2 with the Magnaflow #12867 or the Borla XR-1 be as quiet as it would if I added two more cheap bullets (dynomax or jegs) before the 90* bends?

Cost wise I would rather spend $100 on two dynomax or cheap jegs' bullets if the Magnaflow or Borla by themselves wouldn't be as quiet. I feel added the stock catback would be the best, esp since I would only have to pay for labor, but mehhh about hacking it up and adding the additional weight.

I think the bullets before the bends would be a good idea. Or find a factory SLP catback and put a cutout in that.

The Borla an Magnaflow I suggested would be at least as quiet or better than the two cheap smaller bullets.
Now another good option, which is the quietest option, is to use the stock cat-back but with the factory muffler replaced with a Dynomax, Ultra Flo Welded #17227 or Magnaflow #12267.

Stock muffler and cutout or something like a dual/dual or hooker cat back. F magnaflow it sounds like garbage.

Not looking to redo the entire exhaust w/ true duals right now and definitely do not have the budget after purchasing a cam, support mods, stall, cutout and tune.

Looks like I may just go with putting the stock catback on again as it would probably be the quietest and cheapest route...only labor costs. (cutout will be open most of the time too)

Thanks everyone!

I know its not one of your options, but i would look into hooker catback. Pretty quiet, but has more of a deeper sound than magnaflow.

Im doing, LT's, ORY, XR1, LM1 in the next few weeks. If its too loud Ill throw on some cats.

Lots of people are happy with the XR1.
