Default Intake upgrades??

I'm looking for some bolt on upgrades for my LS car, figured I'd start here, I have an SLP lid, and K&N filter, that's as extensive as it gets, I've read a lot on here and I've seen everybody has something different than the next guy so I'm wondering what kind of cost/performance effective upgrades I can get into. Ill be rebuilding the engine soon and a mild cam is in the works, as well as E85 mods which are on the bench just waiting for time and I figured id do it all at once. Any input is welcome, Thanks guys.

Headers and exhaust is a good start, and at least an LS6 intake if you don't already have one

T56, long tubes x pipe and single chambers will be installed as well, LS6 intakes are scarce around here without spending big coin, I'm shooting for 400 rwhp. Hoping to spend no more than 2k

A good tune up, plugs, wires, filters, hoses, belts, etc.

EGR removal, A.I.R. system removal, throttle body coolant removal, 160 degree thermostat and a tune.

That many miles, assume the radiator is partially blocked, either with junk inside or outside behind the condenser.

These won't get you loads of power but they'll help a bit and improve the engine's response.

Thanks PB i figured id get a response close to that at some point, ive done about half of what you listed, egr goes away tomora and hp tuner is on the way. The rest will go away or modify when my little s10 gets goin again.
Also what kind of fuel economy difference am I looking at with EGR, and A.I.R delete?

It'll be better, actually, as you won't be dumping crap air back into the intake manifold.

As with the 160 stat, definitely spring for the new radiator. Mine finally gave up the ghost right around that mileage. Cracked the plastic on the side. Get an LT1 radiator as it's thicker and has better cooking capacity... Advance Auto, and use a coupon code to check out online and pick up in store. Retailmenot.com kicks some serious *** in that department... You'll see.

I'd recommend Texas Speed's 1 7/8" headers and their true duals. It will give you ALL the flow you need, and not break the bank.

I made my Camaro #'s with an SLP lid. No need to upgrade that. It's a 4" OD and perfect if you ever go speed density if the MAF becomes a restriction.

What else?

Oh yeah, I forgot about the LT1 radiator being higher capacity. You'll need to block off the oil cooler ports that's not used on the LS cars.

I always recommend not using the in-radiator transmission cooler as it adds more heat to the engine coolant. Get a nice B&M plate style cooler. AND, it eliminates the possibility of the cooler leaking and sending coolant to the transmission which will dissolve the clutch packs. How do I know this?

What about using a 6M radiator instead of an A4 unit ? There would be no in-radiator cooler . . . Would that increase the cooling capacity ?

also I started in on EGR delete before realizing what am I gonna do with the valve etc.. do I need a delete kit or alike product?
