That is the SLP Powerflo setup. Yes it gets rid of the rasp. Too loud depends on your tolerances. I do not think it is too loud.

Glasspack mufflers didn't get rid of crap on another vehicle of mine that had a raspy sounding exhaust. It was just like no muffler at all. Ill go out on a limb here and say "trust me" on the 9" magnaflow bullet muffler I used. It sounds great even through the cutout at part throttle. I know what rasp is and I ******* hate it, period. I wouldn't own a car with it as it makes a really nice looking car sound like a total piece of **** going down the road. Do yourself a favor here and take my advice.

I am running into some rasp with my new exhaust setup on my swap and want to get rid of it.

6.0L LQ4
CTS-V (1st Gen) OEM manifolds
dual 3" stainless piping to an X-pipe under the rear seat
Right (passenger) branch after the X-pipe is straight piped out the back with a currently closed cutout dump
Left (driver) branch after the X-pipe goes to the OEM BMW muffler which has a factory Helmholtz resonator. Closed cutout between the X-pipe and the BMW muffler.

Raspy on cold start around 1.5K, and 2.5K.

Would one of these in each of my straight lengths before the x-pipe reduce the rasp? I believe I have the room for it.

I built a y pipe with a smooth merge and got rid of the Kooks Y pipe and now it has no rasp all the way through the RPMs.

Well....that didn't work. I had a 3" dynomax bullet... Tried that..nope.. Then I put a 3" glasspack.... Nope..

This is also changing rear mufflers. I switched the glasspack from the bullet, and swapped again. Then tried a magnaflow oval, was better.. Sooo idk.

Also this is with a single 3" outlet.

It may be too quiet for your taste, but these have eliminated rasp on everything I have ever put them on.

The magnaflow sounds good under a load but it's very quiet at idle, going to throw it back on and go for another drive

yeah its probably the shitty BBK y pipe that isnt long enough to mate correctly with the SLP..

its just an overall shitty piece

I have never heard of anybody using a Borla XR-1 in the I pipe and still having bad rasp. If you want a drone-free and rasp-free exhaust then the Borla XR-1 is a proven way to go about doing it. It worked for me and It has worked for many others on this site. That is why everybody (now including me) humps the leg of Borla is because their mufflers really are that good.

I say Borla XR-1 in I-pipe, true duals with GOOD mufflers, or SLP Powerflo.

The "Y" pipe where the driver side meets with the passenger side is what causes most of the rasp. Different "Y" pipes and muffler combos will change the overall sound of it.

I installed 2 x magnaflow spun bullet style high flow cats in my ORY and problem solved. Car no longer stinks as bad either

This TSP catted y-pipe solved my rasp problems, although now it looks like they are no longer using Magnaflow High Flow cats in their current y-pipe but you may want to check if you can just get 2 cats welded in to your current setup: http://www.texas-speed.com/p-292-texas-speed-3-stainless-steel-catted-y-pipe.aspx
