Smile Wiring diagram help for coils

Hey guys so i just picked up a new ls1 wiring harness and i have a set of LS2 coils. so here is my issue

i have the plugs for each coil but im missing the large plug that clips onto the stock harness.

this is going to sound crazy but keep in mind that time is everything and yes i understand i can just buy the two brand new harnesses for each side for 40 dollars on ebay.

I am wondering if i can just cut the large plug off and straight wire each coil right to the main harness. im sure this must be possible but i have no idea which wire goes to which because my clips are all different and no colors match.

So to recap yes i know the best way is to buy a new harness but understand that i have a big auto x event to go to.

Two this is LS2 coils going to LS1 harness.

Three... please help!

i know but my issue is what to type into search? i couldnt find anything other than people swapping 240's and rx7s

Hey Will, the engine harness will have a large plug on each side of the engine. Each one goes into the larger center plug on each coil harness.

Are the two large plugs on the engine harness missing?

You need to make sure the coil harnesses you purchase are LS2 (and newer) style as the small plugs on the coils themselves are different from LS1/6.

You'll also need the coil bracket that matches the coils you have.

but i do have the 8 coil pack clips that you can see in the picture (4 for each side) just not the two large clip (at the top of the picture) so what i need to find out is how to wire these into my harness while deleting the two large clips (at top of photo)

The coil harnesses are GM number 1260182. You'll need two. They run around 40 bucks each with shipping on Amazon.

What coils do you have? If you can post their part number we can figure out what brackets you'll need.

Hey Paul, I know i need the coils harness but my question more pertained to wiring the 4 individual coil pack clips into the main harness without the add on harnesses. also i custom built a coil bracket so i should be good there. They are LS2 coils

I would highly doubt their harness colors follow GM's normal scheme so you'd best be advised to have EFI Source give you the colors. Each coil has three common wires but the fourth wire is unique to each coil and should have it's own color.

By the time you get all of them wired in, you will realize that the new harness is the way to go.
