If the fuzz in the runners isn't as bad as the pics make it look out to be, I would just run it as is.

No that fuzz is kind of bothering me to be honest, and it is just how the pics show actually. It doesn't look to be ported does it? So what about that glue on the inside and on the back? It appears there are little holes that the glue is covering as well. Any idea what brand throttle body it might be?

I agree I'd run it lol. The tb honestly looks like a fast. I had a 92 fast tb and it was exactly the same, right down to the black throttle cam. However it said fast on the top. So that may either be a very early one or a really good knock off lol

Looks ported. Judging by the writing on the bottom it's a Vengeance racing intake.

I would try to smooth out the junk in the runners then. The epoxy is definitely covering holes from someone bolting it down on top of the stock valley bolts and dimpling or cracking the bottom shell.

Fuzz and cracks.... I'd be weary personally. I would try to get that thing apart were it me. Somebody glued it together for a reason. I'd be finding out exactly why by ripping it apart before just slapping it on my car.

Thunderstruck, how can you tell that it's ported, i'm just curious? Do you think I should try and take that glue off the bottom then, or would that not be good since it's covering the little holes that are there? I really don't want to try and take the intake apart since the top shell has been epoxied onto the lower shell

Man I'd be upset.

What did the seller say about it? I'd really like to know what glue was used. What if it melts at high temps?

As much as it pains me to say it I agree. Somebody is hiding something or another. I don't like it

I'm the 3rd owner of the intake apparently. The guy I bought it from didn't know why the holes were there according to him since it came that way when he got it. The only thing he siad was that the glue on there was for the extra foam padding that it came with when he purchased it. There doesn't appear to be any cracks...just the small holes that the glue has covered.

I just talked to Bob at Peak Speed Shop and he said the TB appears to be a older Nick Williams one. He also said that the intake has definitely been ported lightly, and the only thing he'd recommend is that I clean some of that fuzz up a bit.

I hope everything works out for you bud. I just don't get why there's glue on the inside and outside

You could plug all the ports and do a smoke test just to make sure there are no leaks. Will save you from installing it if there is a problem. I wouldn't try to take the cover off if to was glued you will probably do more damage than good. Good Luck I would run it if it smoke tested fine.

Sounds like a pretty cool idea! How exactly would I perform this test? I've never even heard of it before

Still haven't got to it yet. I went ahead and ordered some cold smoke pellets because it was the cheapest option...that plus only one place in my area had a smoke machine and they wanted 50 bucks just to perform the test and I said screw that. I'll post up the results soon when I get it done

I used one of those portable cigarette lighter tire inflators that had nozzles for inflating and deflating rafts....hooked it to a hookah with some vinyl tubing lol. Smoke test worked and it made my intake smell nice rofl
