Default Fast 90 intake and TB

I recently bought a used Fast 90 intake along with a 90mm TB. I noticed the blade on the the TB does not open to a complete 90 degree angle. Is that normal? If not is there any benefit to getting it there? Also the top of the intake has been apoxied to the lower shell, and there are these other apoxied type marks (about the size of a quarter) on the bottom of the intake where there are these small holes that have been covered by it. Does that sound normal as well? Those quarter size marks are also on the inside of the intake as well. I've never seen one of these intakes up close before, so I don't have a clue if this is normal or not.

Thanks

What type of tb is it?

As far as the epoxy it sounds like someone busted the bottom by not changing the valley cover bolts or had a nitrous backfire and repaired it.

Not sure on the TB. It doesn't have a name, number...nothing! I'm thinking it might be from Speed Inc. but that's just a vague guess right now. The guy I got it from didn't know either since he got it used at the time as well

If I still have the his number I'll see what he has to say. Just seems a bit odd to me

Just got a hold of the guy. He said the intake came with optional padding (like some factory ones) and that stuff is glue on there. I've never heard that for these intakes. Does that sound right?

Ive had a couple 90's and 92's and none ever had padding although that certainly doesn mean they never did! My 102 didnt either. Post pics of the whole setup and we can probably nail everything down. The tb could be anything but a FAST tb would say fast on it. NW tb's have no markings on them but they have a distinct style depnding on how old they are post up and we can figure it out lol

I picked up a Fast 90 intake from a local guy and just got a NW90 TB from someone on here. The intake doesn't have any epoxy on the bottom and the throttle body opens to a perfect 90. As someone said I bet the epoxy is from someone buttoning the intake over stock valley cover bolts. I would not be too concerned if they used a good epoxy and everything is sealed fine.

Like I said could also be where the intake had burst panels at one time (or other damage from a nitrous backfire situation)

I'll post pics tonight when I get the intake back. Thunderstruck, the glue marks that I'm referring to are basically right below the ports on the very bottom of the intake. There are 8 of them (since there are 8 ports) and they are about the size of a quarter. Hopefully that makes sense. Not sure what those two circle things are on the bottom of your intake since mine doesn't have them.

That's not mine, but those are the optional nitrous burst panels.

Sounds like yours has repairs from being put on an engine without changing out the valley cover bolts then. No big deal so long as they are done right.

Exactly what it sounds like to me as well, and I echo the sentiment stated above. Just ensure you use the button head bolts before you install it. You'll need M8 30mm x 1.25

I guess we will see when i post some pics later. Also the top shell has been epoxied onto the lower. If its been done correctly that shouldn't be a problem right?

Not a problem at all, but that would drive me nuts. Any idea what it's been glued with?

Myself, I'd try a heat gun or a solvent or something and try to get it back apart. Makes porting and cleaning a hell of a lot easier too.

I wouldn't take it apart for fear of messing it up unless you plan to port it or have it ported.

No idea what type of epoxy was used, but I'm not going to take it apart or any of that since I'd be worried of messing it up lol. I might try taking the glue off the bottom, but I'm gonna wait and see what you guys think first
