Dorman ls6 intake 615-900
ive done a bunch of searching and a lot of the posts are somewhat old and or have the same info, ive seen the onallcylinders page that shows the dyno comparison to the gm ls6 and the fast 90, and ive heard how its basically a 2 peice fast 78 design re done a little to look gm factory, with that being said, im looking at getting one cause $600-700 for an original ls6 is ridiculous imo and something has to be better then my factory ls1 one. my concerns are though is im a turbo car and this being a 2 piece intake and having those burst disc things on the bottom, would this not work for a turbo application? or be a bad idea and i should just stick with the ls1 intake for now?
only reason im not getting an ls2 or etc is its not in the budget atm as i would have to get new rails and TB with an ls2 or something aftermarket thats not an ls1/6 intake manifold, when the time and money comes next year or 2 i plan on doing ls3 heads and intake with 92 tb, just not in the budget atm but a $300 intake is lol

ya man lol they are getting up there. Idk how the dorman would do with boost. An ls6 intake i'd say bare can be had for 400 nowadays. That may be the way you need to go if you dont want to chance grenading the dorman one. Although I believe its plastic welded together so who knows.
The fasts had problems because they were think and would swell at the gasket under boost. The 102 now is a much better intake to take boost

i think im gunna have to do this, thanks for the info/code! i went to work on car a little this weekend and peaked around my ls1 intake with a flash light this time as i was still getting debri out of it and its F**K UP, theres metal chunks all embedded/melted in it and scattered through out every runner when the pistons let go in previous engine (mainly 3 and 4 which i lost on previous engine), looked like a stary night lol, so im gunna give this one a try so you might see a review on it in a month or so lol

they were like 2-4 hp off from an LS6 intake, which every one boiled down to being identical to an LS6 in most peoples cases, and yes ive heard there 78 lowers, it cant be worse then an ls1 intake imo unless it blows up lol

If you get it and install it, post info.. I'm in that same situation, picked up a motor and want to go with an ls6 intake, but not wanting to spend 600.00 on used junk.. back in 2006 they were 200-250 tops.. this place had become a mad house.

yeah idk what happen lol, yes there great intakes but for an intake that came on at least 50% of the ls cars made its still i a high production factory intake, if i spend over $500 its for a fast or one of the crazy high rise ones imo
and yeah when i get it ill post a thread and put link in here, ill try to get pics, car wont be driving untill another month roughly though do to rebuild of funding to buy this and fuel lines lol

If they were going for $600, I would be looking at used FASTs.

I've got the dorman on my cam/bolt on 2000 Z28 I'm real happy with it. There was several steps in the ports that I blended and the TB opening is like 73mm! I opened that up as well after a couple hrs of quick port work it looks like a superior intake to a ls6. Jus so u know u hafta do the ls6 coolant tube with block off caps on the back and with it using the fast lower it hits on the valley pan bolt heads. I got a set of M8-25mm long button head cap screws at fastenal for like $3. The dorman does have writing on first 4 runners I smoothed mine and base cleared to match my car
