problems after relocating battery to trunk....
I relocated the battery to the trunk in my TA and now even though the car starts up and runs fine, radio keeps its memory just as normal. Now when I jump in the car and go start it the gauges flip out just like it when the batt is low/dead and u try to turn it over. But the car does start just fine. The needles flop over and my odometer resets however.... this is tripping me oout..
TIA..
TIA..

There may be many reasons to this. Power surging is not one of them. My gauges were doing the same thing and it turned out to be a low battery. Some people have had problems with the gauge cluster not working propery, which is a dealer fix. And third, the connections may not be solid.

I am having the same issues. I am not sure what it is the problem is quite yet. I will write back if I fiqure it out. Where did you ground the battery to? I grounded mine to the seat belt bracket. I am going to check all of my grounds. I am going to make a good quality connection from the chassis and the engine. I am suspecting there is something wrong with my battery too. I hope to get this resolved soon. I am having transmission issues that I am suspecting are related to this also. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Mine is in the spare tire well and I grounded it to the power antenna bracket, there was a suitable hole already there I ground the paaint off and bolted the cable down. Should not be a issue there.... I sswapped batteries yesterday to see if it would help. This morning it did the same thing again.....

Do you have a good quality chassis to engine ground? I am suspecting this is my problem.

I didn't alter any of the existing stock stuff. Doesn't the negative batt cable originally ground the engine to the batt/ then on to the chassis? now I have that terminal open (ground) That maybe what the problem is but it just don't make sense why.

Well you no longer have a good ground between the chassis and the engine. I am going to use a piece of 2 guage wire between the engine and the frame of the car. I am hoping that will resolve some of my problems. I am also going to replace the battery in the near future. What type of battery do you have in the car?

That sucks! I checked my gounds with a meter and they all show 12.4 volts.
Did anyone upgrade there steel braided strap on there driver side?, I was thinking of doing that.
Or
Do I need to run a 3rd additonal ground from the engine to the frame?
Please help I hate when it resets almost everything!!!!!!!!
