Default e3 plus review

So I picked up a new ls1 fbody and I am going to do a good tune up on it and just wanted people's real life reviews on these plus if you've ever used used them. I know already about the usual plugs that's not what this thread is about. I have seen reviews on my dodge ram hemi where they have only lasted a couple months. Thanx

I wouldn't buy them just because of the incredibly STUPID commercial they have on TV for them. but that's me.

Overpriced novelty spark plugs. Regular coppers are fine if you don't mind checking them or fresh platinum or iridium if you want them to last for closer to 100k miles.

Don't forget to add the tornado fuel saver while you are at it. That combined with E3 plugs will yield a +50hp increase and +10mpg.

Ok thanx, but has anyone actually tried them and have they caused issues, have longevity problems, etc. According to them, there is supposed to be a better and efficient burn. This is a review thread please keep it that way.

THIS! All these multi prong spark plugs are just a gimmick. Just get some TR55 or TR55 G power (which is what I have) or if you wake up and drink mimosas on your yacht, get the TR55IX. Just don't try to gap a platinum or iridium plug

I put them on my wifes Hummer H3, picked up 2mpg. I don't drive the truck much, but she feels it is more throttle responsive. The fuel savings was what i really liked. Will they last 100k? Who knows, i would never let a plug go that far anyway.

2mpg is a LOT in a truck. Like more than switching to a tune that provides increases in cruise timing and activates "lean cruise".

Would take some hefty and very scientifically gathered and recorded data to buy that one.

I put them in my Camaro years ago with my old motor. They will work, but after a while I noticed the car began to have a skip at idle/acceleration. I checked and found 3 of the plug ends (part that the plug wire connects to) were loose. I got rid of those and went back to stock iridium plugs. I checked all 8 since they were out of the car and the others were starting to loosen, but the 3 were so bad the ends would not tighten back on. E3 must have made the ends out of cheap pot metal because when I tried to screw them back onto the plug the thread stripped before it was snug. Needless to say in my opinion/personal experience they are crap plugs that will only lead to problems.

I installed a set in our Nismo Frontier a few years back and have never had a problem. I went with them because they were only $2 more than the recommended iridiums that were only rated for 30k miles. I can't really say if there was any performance increase or not though because I put them in while doing a CAI but I was averaging 20-21 mpg commuting to work which I thought was pretty good for a heavy V6/Auto/4x4 that's only rated at 15 city / 19 highway.

Yea because the data he posted was soo credible.....

It's been proven by others that these plugs are a gimmick just like others in the past(splitfire).

All you have to do is research it.

No way would a E3 plug increase fuel mileage 2mpg over a fresh NGK Iridium IX TR5. The plugs were probably shot in that Hummer. In that case any plug would show a increase in mileage.

I had them in my '00 LS1 Camaro and the motor fell out of the car. I replaced the motor mounts, installed TR6s and never had a problem again. Hope this helps.

People say that the E3 shoots a flame thru the hole... I don't really see how... to me it looks like the complex ground electrode shrouds the arc from the fuel/air charge.

If they really increased fuel economy 2 mpg the OEMs would be using them. Just imagine what that would to to their CAFE ratings.

I can see that. E3 means three times the combustion for three times the torque. Those stock engine mounts couldn't handle it. Keep that in mind if you're gonna go with these. Lol

She keeps track of her mileage every tank. Truck makes the same ole trip to work day in, day out. The only time she drops in mileage is alot of city cruising, but she drives my car since it is super cheap to drive in town.

Previous stock replacement Ac Delco had 30k on them. New plugs currently have about 7500 on them. I don't replace plugs at 100k, just like i wouldn't let the deathcool coolant go 100k. I maintain my vehicles on a very specific schedule.
