Default True duals or big Y merge?

I'm trying to decide what i want to do with my exhaust so I can order a torque arm. The motor going in my car is a 12:1 408 and it'll be on a 300 shot. Don't want to leave any power on the table with my exhaust so i'm asking for yall's opinions. Long tubes with dual 3" next to each other or long tubes to a 4" merge then a bullet muffler dumped? Was also thinking about just running some pipe off the collectors then dump it pretty early.

I'm guess it's not worth hardly anything because I've never seen a dyno or 1/4 time to prove different.

Here is one of the systems I built. I promise you if you put this on your car it will sound exactly the same as duals dumped. It will perform as good or better also. I took my duals dumped off and replaced it with this. I think it scavenges better.

Send me your number I'll text you pics of my clearance issues with true duals this weekend. I think you're close enough to swing by and look at it yourself.

IMHO you'll be best off with a long arm then run the merge to single 4" run along the body where the exhaust normally runs. Then you won't have to make stuff fit nearly as much.

My kooks tds clear the mwc 9" and their long torque arm. They also make an arm for the 10 bolt, which I'm guessing won't last long with your setup....lol

I went ahead and ordered a body mount arm with double drop down crossmember. Guess i'll find out how i'm going to do the exhaust once the motor is in the car

You can do duals or flowmaster merge with that tq arm but its tight inside the crossmember. Very tight with the flowmaster merge. I prefer the standard tq arms with the kit that relocates it off of the trans. Much more flexibility, not to mention that drop down brace hangs low.

My vote is for duals. One of the best things I ever did for my car.

Thats a nice pipe! If I had to guess I'd say a dual dump set up would be a tad better. With a 408 on a 300 shot get that exhaust out. All depending I'm thinking of some small bullets off the collector to turn downs. True duals.

Its only a 2 foot section of straight pipe. Single 4" vs dual 3". Merge is considerably bigger on the flowmaster merge compared to an x merge. Much smoother transition too

Our Double Drop is the only one on the market that I'm aware of that fits the bigger Y-Pipe exhaust systems with a tunnel mount or a crossmember for a true dual or X-Pipe system.

Here is a picture of all our different crossmembers. We do now offer what we call a turbo crossmember for forward facing exhaust. It gives the most ground clarence over anything else available.

Thats some slick hardware! It looks like you guys made a wider more gradual drop down brace. Thats the ticket! I know its still tight but this is the best design possible to accommodate a big merge given the constraints of the car.
