So what's your opinion? Which one is better?

Kooks seems more popular with the stepped header design. I'm wondering if more people are running kooks? I saw a nice thread on camaro5 that Maryland speed put together. They were showing great gains on a LS3 with a 1 3/4 - 1 7/8 kooks stepped header.
The concept behind Tri-Ys is to tie exhaust ports together so one helps pull the gasses out of the other. This is dependent upon the firing order of the engine. You also need to take primary tube lengths into consideration, because there is a point of diminishing returns. So, simply lopping off the 4-1 merge collector and welding on something like that isn't going to effectively give you the benefits of a proper Tri-Y design.
Personally, I wish GM offered the Z/28 Tri-Y manifolds at a much more affordable price than the $700+ that they want.
