Fueling Questions for New Build

Default Fueling Questions for New Build

Well I am getting my budgetary stuff lined up to pull the trigger on my new engine build. Got just about everything I'd like together and now I need to decide how I am going to feed the beast. My LS1 was a victim of hydrolock and I am going back with the following:
  • LS3 bottom End (GEN IV Block)
  • CNC'd 243 Castings (11.4:1 Compression)
  • 236/242 .620/.612 112+3 LSA
  • FAST 102/102 setup
  • Factory 02 Z28 MAF and SLP Lid

I am unsure about injector size and brand. I want to utilize my factory fuel pump for at least a couple months as I am dumping quite a bit of cash into the build. If not possible I will replace it, obviously, But I want to see if I can use it for a bit. We are expecting 480-510 RWHP through a Fresh T-56. What size injectors should I be looking at for this buildup and what brand? I want as much "driveability" as I can get from the injectors. Thanks, and feel free to chime in on if my fuel pump can live for a bit.

I'm around 450 rwhp n/a and run Bosh 42's. Only at 65% cycle duty at my power level

Are you running the factory fuel pump? If so is it keeping up?

Those Bosh units you are using require adapters right? While obviously related to how good the tune is, how do you rate the drivability?

I run a Racetronix pump. The injectors came with the car when I bought it, so I'm not sure if they have adapters or not. All i know is their cycle duty, and drivability is great. No issues there

Thats good to know. I was directed toward those injectors by Texas Speed. I was worried about my fuel pump but I guess I'll find out. I wonder what the limits of the factory pump is.

yeah I didnt have any issues with FBO and cam.

It should be close. My one buddy makes 460/500 on a 125 shot bolt on LS1 Camaro. He has both stock injectors and pump with no issues. Problem is that every setup is a little different
