Default Dorman LS6 intake 615-900

Been looking for a LS6 intake for some time now and I cant seem to find a deal on them. But I noticed that Dorman sells an LS6 intake and I am able to find them for about 250.00. Are they worth it?

It looks like it performs more like the ls1 intake to me.

if you're going for hood clearance, yes worth it considering that LS6 intakes go for $400 lately.

If you can fit it, I'd run a shaved truck intake or a tbss intake.

Based on that conversation I'd stay away from the Dorman

There's multiple threads already on this intake, including dyno results. Once they are touched up a bit, they make every bit the same power as an LS6.

Why? They are in the business of making inexpensive parts, not performance parts. It would be great but also odd if they had flow numbers. Now true, they are going after the performance crowd here, but again - they aren't a performance company.

I see what you're saying but this guy is claiming it's as good as OEM but doesn't have anything to back it up.

Little bit of porting. It's not a bad intake. Some guys hate real hot rodding though

I'm not vouching for it, just saying that the rep said it does not have any fitment or performance issues. And that's basically all he can say. Now there might be some casting flash/residue that affects performance, but nothing that is going to cause actual drive-ability problems. Does it REALLY fit as well as an OEM one? Dunno. And in my opinion I think going with a good used one is a better idea. Buy cheap buy twice I believe is the old saying.

Keep in mind your hp goals. The 500+ hp in the post #3 graph is far from anything near stock form. I wouldn't doubt there would be no noticeable difference in the 400hp range.

Dorman makes a lot of products and they make decent parts. But they aren't as good as original parts.

Guys, all the pertinent points are discussed here in the original thread. No sense in rehashing them.
