Default Ported MSD Atomic on ls1

I have the opportunity to buy a very low mile Tony Mamo msd atomic intake for my ls1 but i feel it might be too much for a ls1. My build is a tu1 cam with trick flow heads and long tubes. My question is is this intake too much for what im doing. The intake is rather cheap for what it is.

No, it's not too much for a heads/cam LS1. Many say a FAST 102 is too much, and I can provide you with many threads that prove otherwise, even one that was done by Vengeance Racing.

Can the seller verify it's ported by Tony? That is pretty cheap.

It has all the paper work. It is infact done by him. Intake has less that 500 miles on it.

That is a good price on it.

If you have any questions with install, let me know... I'm running a non-ported version as well.

Nick Williams or FAST TB would work.

I would think that a factory throttle body from an ls2/3 would work as well.

Tough call. I am not sure if a ported MSD intake would be better than a out of the box Fast 102 car with that cam. Tony says if you rev it the MSD is the one to go with

Well im certainly not going to baby it but im not going to be shifting at redline all the time. The car will be raced drag strip or autocross and street driven whatever I feel like doing.

I would call tony up and just ask him based on your intended rpm range which is better.

There's a crossover point where the MSD makes more sense but it's higher in the RPM band. The fast still makes better midrange. The MSD looks like it shifts peak power up a little and carries better past peak.

I'm sure there are some other brands out there that cost less, but I don't know anything about them. I'm not very familiar with drive by wire TB's. I know there are alternative options for drive by cable TB's. You can check out WARR Performance and see if they have one. I know they have drive by cable TB's, and it seems they work really well.
