Default 98mm Lid Options

What all is out there in terms of 98mm lids? Fast Toys is really all I'm seeing on the old interweb. Are there other options out there?

Also, would it be of any benefit to go with a 104mm lid over the 98mm lid? Setup will be a ported FAST 90mm intake with a 92mm TB. No MAF, so will need a hose from intakehoses.com to connect the TB tot he neck of the lid.

The 98mm lid and 104mm lid use the same casting and neck size. The difference is the final connection. The 98 is about 4 inch OD and smooth. The 104s have a raised lip that the 100mm MAFs can slip in. When I had a 104 lid I inserted a short section of 4 inch metal pipe, then made my rubber coupler go from metal pipe to TB. When I switched to a 98 lid, I bought a new silicone hose, got rid of the pipe and went straight from lid directly to TB. Hose was 4" x 7" long.

Thanks for the reply. Right now, I'm running a 4" x 6" long hose that connects from my TB to the neck of my SLP lid. I may be able to get that hose to work. I figured I'd need something with a larger ID than the 4" to fit over the larger TB and lid neck.

Nope, my 7 inch barely reached. I trimmed it for angle but not for actual length. I think a 6 may be too short.

IMO and im sure theres people who disagree but if you are running the FAST 90 and 92 TB then the 98 lid is plenty fine. You cant flow 104 at your intake so it makes sense to use the 98.

I am going to go with the 98mm lid. What brand? Is Fast Toys the only company that makes a 98mm lid?

I've wanted to do that for a long time, but I don't want to get rid of AC.

If it could be done with still keeping the license plate cover, it would be okay. Something like the mesh type license covers that the turbo guys run would be okay.

I'm thinking of doing it for a FMIC. But that's a totally different beast. 3mph in the quarter. vs... what 20-25?

The intercooler setups arent so bad, and they can be done tastefully. But the bellmouth out far enough that it can really grab air just looks silly. Even if you remove it for the street you got a big *** hole. I just cant get onboard with it.
