Well TT427 , I thought you had given up on the idea ! Your a brave man ..... good job . So it appears that my suspicion that it is a 3 piece design like I was saying is now confirmed . Since you have gone in from the bottom I don't think you will be able to remove the spine center section that forms the runners. But it does give good access to port and make some shaping and improvement.

Who makes the fast intake?? <---sorry if that sounds stupid. I would like to see a exploded view of the intake. I've been looking around but can't find it. Wouldn't the lengths of the runners determine where the power is made??

Idk why this one was left out but is a port that hadn't been touched. You can see the top of the runner has a substantial ledge, probably 3/16 wide, and their is a bulge on the side ( like the rocker bolt boss) that is pretty intrusive. It's not for a bolt, probably just reinforcing because you have pieces converging there. I just payed it all back and make anything that looks disruptive to airflow less so. It's probably a good idea to blend that top ledge in as far as possible so as not to make the runner act shorter than it is with a huge taper only a 1/2 inch wide.

Not any real progress, just evening entries out for now. Was chasing an exhaust leak, found o2 wires frayed, so that has taken up some time. I will post some pics when the inside is done just before I weld it back together.

I bought one a few months ago and ported it. I opened up the throttle body opening similar to what is mentioned here. I 1st used a sanding wheel that I carefully inserted and filed away the plastic to open it up. I then polished it down with smother rolls. I also cleaned up all ports and removed all material that disrupted flow. I then smoothed out and polished each intake runner. I do not have Dyno numbers but I will tell you that the car definitely pulls harder. I have a 2000 ss with LTs and a Frost tune.

Any further and the arms touch the sides. Their is definitely room to straighten things out draw taker down gradually, maybe get the port mouth opened up some, and match the head side too. I am doing 317's with removed stud boss, narrowed guide boss and completely removed ramp. Going to mill .040 for a 98 ls1. Would really like to open it up and bell the plenum side openings... just not sure how to go about it.
Now that you have opened it up and ported inside , what measurement do you have at the runner mouth opening, and @ 1" and @ 2" from the runner opening ?

I just want to correct some info , it turns out the info I was given earlier was incorrect . 615-900 is made of Nylon 6 , not Nylon 66 like I reported before. I was given wrong info .... it was verified by a rep by reading the cad description.

yes 4 piece lol
not my thread, but for my contributions to the thread this project is on hold. Took advantage of the Huron Speed sale so going a different direction atm. In a few weeks once vacation and minor surgery are done I will probably weld it back together and take some measurements then post that info.

I see that this is an old thread .. by chance does anyone have any dyno numbers showing increased numbers? I'm curious to see how well porting pays off on these.

Anyone take a look in the United State Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) On-line.
Wondering if FAST2 or Dorman has patented any of their Intakes, may be able to get some very helpful drawing/sketch/exploded views...
