That thing does rev good! You're peaking around 6700 it looks like, but carrying nicely. 460 is a great number through a stalled auto! You'd be 480+ through a manual.

If you do get the MSD, read Tony's post below about how much material he removes. There's another thread where he took someone else's ported MSD and had almost 90% of what he removes from an out of the box part. You gotta go through Tony if you want it to breathe

I was planning to go through him if i do. My house flooded in August so car is on hold for now . Just no time to work on it but i do research while at work to what i want to do with it. June is probably when i will make the changes.
I wonder if he would be interested in doing some work on my darts abs matching them up? Then do a llsr similar to yours as it has to drove good but pull up top

So now that you've driven it, tell us how fast does this thing rev? When you have traction of course?

Sorry to hear about your house! Dude, I've been so happy with the LLSR, I might do it on my suburban and see how that goes! You'd have to talk to Tony about the port matching, etc. I just sorta call him and go with his recommendation.

If you're interested in cam thoughts, if you did a 233/241-115+2.5, after it warms up (gains 0.010" lash), it'd be a 228/236-115+2.5, IVC at 46.5 degrees, and only one degree of overlap. Should drive nice and rev nice. The loss of overlap would hurt power a bit, but you'd gain so much more from valvetrain stability of the solids.

Thanks guys! it was definitely a fun test to do!

It revs quite well. It's really snappy. sometimes, that very first hit at 2000-ish RPM has a slight lag, but that was on both intakes. After it's revved the first time, it almost "jumps" to RPM. I had to raise my limiter to 7500 to avoid hitting it. A first gear rolling hit, with traction, 3000 to 7000 is crazy

It's a bit of an adjustment to learn to drive with peak power at almost 7000 rpm vs the normal 6300-6500 you typically see. Cause you never really feel the power fall off or fade. I shifted before at 7200, and I could ride it further, but it felt like it was falling. Now I'm thinking to put the shift light at 7400.

I attached an in-car vid (ignore the tach, it stops at 6600) and a dyno clip. Dyno clip went to 7400. The in car vid, I short shifted, because I hadn't tuned the top RPM band yet.

Darth, Once again you have research well conducted and attention to all the detail! My setup is 8 years old(starting with the Cam in sig), and even though mines been a constant work in progress, threads like this our encouraging to head back to the drawing board and start all over ..

Very nice and informative write-up Darth. Sounds like being the referee for this fight wasn't very easy.

It wasn't. At first I had a tough time calling it. In the end I feel the MSD better matched my specific build.

Lol!! I've got enough leftover parts to build a decent budget motor, so for now I'm not selling it.

Add about 20% to the rwhp numbers.

That would be 622 hp. I would think his drivetrain is more efficient than a 20% loss.

I been using 15% for driveline losses. I know a 9" is more parasitic vs a ten bolt, but I did have the gears micropolished, and also in the tranny, and a T56 is pretty efficient at transmitting power. Be cool if it was less than 15% parasitic loss, but I doubt that's even possible.

Might sound odd to say this, but I really don't care if the motor makes 700 and loses 35% through the driveline. It's what gets to the ground that matters most to me.
