Default Exhaust sound levels.

(2002 Z28) I need to quite my car down a bit. I'm running long tube headers into a catted TSP y pipe into SLP loudmouth exhaust. I also have a TSP 224 cam and it sounds fantastic! My neighbors do not agree since I start it every morning to drive to work. I still want loud, but it needs to be a little quieter for my neighbors sanity. Any suggestions?

Either ditch the LM1 for a quieter catback or add mufflers to it. Add a cutout on the I-pipe or two cutouts on each side of the y-pipe so when you want to be loud open the cutouts.

Add a quieter muffler. LM2 will be quieter, but not by a lot.

I went with Moroso Spiral Flows on my true duals and it is not quiet, but it won't make the neighbors declare war on you.
This is the quietest affordable bullet muffler I could find.
Magnaflow is another choice that will definitely not be obnoxiously loud to neighbors.

Thanks for the recommendations. I will look into them. I hate to quite my car down, but I do feel a little bad every morning when I start my car and let her idle as she warms up.

I think you would like the Magnaflow. Nice mellow sound and not obnoxious. Your neighbors will like you. Rich

I run true duals with 4 mufflers and 2 cutouts, Mine is setup like this, Header/pipe/muffler/Cutout/pipe/muffler/tail pipe Has a very mellow sound with cutouts closed and loud but not open headers loud with cutouts open. Pay no attentions to the dangling wires The picture was before the wiring was complete.

I got the regular black ones, then sanded them a bit and sprayed them with BBQ paint to protect them from rust.

I ended up swapping my LM1 for a LM2. Thanks for all the help!
