Default Are these cracks in my oil pan?

Was cleaning my oil pan and noticed these inside it:

they don't look like they go all the way through, and I don't think the pan ever leaked from these spots.

also noticed this on the outside:

again, doesn't seem to go all the way through, but it has me a little freaked out.

thoughts? Am I buying a new pan?

Shoot some WD on the inside, and take a look....

Whelp, shot some wd40 and saw no signs of leaking anywhere.

I wonder what caused these. The one that's visible on the outside seems to just be on the surface, so I guess it's good to run.

That crack on the outside looks like it originates from the location of the seam between the timing cover and block. Be careful when reinstalling, make sure the timing cover and rear cover bolts are loose when reinstalling, I've cracked a pan before in nearly that same spot when I had the timing cover already installed.

The odd thing on that crack on the outside is that where the pan meets the mounting flange there is excess material, almost as if when the pan was cast there were imperfections in the mold, giving the appearance of a crack when really it's just a surface imperfection. That's my theory at least.

I appreciate the advice however, and will definitely do that when it's time to reassemble the motor.

THanks!
