VSS output from PCM

VSS output from PCM Hi All,
I'm using an LS1 and Tremec TKO 600 in a Cobra kit car. I have no experience of efi or PCM's. The aftermarket speedo I have will take a variety of input signals so can anyone please tell me what the VSS output signal is from the standard GM PCM?

Thanks Gary. Do you know the signal level eg. 12v peak-to-peak etc. The reason I ask is sometimes if the signal is a lower voltage a pull-up resistor may be needed.
I also want to make sure that what ever I connect to the PCM does not cause any damage.

On my 1992 truck i have a tremec but not a t56. I have the 2 wires from the trans go to the pcm and the speedo output goes to my trucks stock speedo. I just checked my speedo the other day with a gps and i am off by 1 mph. here is a pic of my programming. I had to adjust the sensor calibration and gear ratio & tire size. My pcm is a 1999 5.3 silverado.
On the 1999-2001 camaro pcm the trans inputs to the pcm are red connector pin 20 low vss signal pin 21 high vss signal and output from pcm to speedo is red connector pin 50.

I have a 1971 Chevelle with a 5.3L and a 4L60e transmission From a 2000 Chevy Tahoe. I am stuck with how to wire my VSS (Single Wire) and my TCC (Single Wire). I am not installing cruise control in this vehicle. Each of these wires are single wires from the ecm. I am not sure if they need to be grounded, etc. I know the pigtail for the VSS is a two pin plug. Is the black wire grounded? Please help...

The post right above yours tells how to wire the VSS to the pcm. The output from the pcm will be the one wire going to the speedo. The TCC needs to be run through the brake switch so the convertor will lock and unlock correctly. Search and you will find many posts on how to do that.
