Default Need to find quieter mufflers for true duals :(

I have pacesetter LTs with a 3in x pipe with 2 Dynomax 24215s and it's obnoxiously loud. It usually wouldn't bother me since its mostly a drag strip only car, but my bitch neighbor has called the cops on me 2 times already. Yesterday I installed my wideband and let the car run for less than 1 minute and the cops were at my house 15 min later. Both times the cops were cool as hell, and both times it was in the middle of the day, but it's only going to take 1 ******** cop to write me a $250 ticket. So I guess its time to surrender and try and find some quieter mufflers. Looking for some recommendations since its nearly impossible to judge loudness listening to youtube videos. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These are the mufflers I have BTW

time for some cutouts and some mufflers do your duals dump before the axle , bc if thats the case nothing is going to help , you dont have the room . Maybe dual cutouts where the cats should be to a single 3, 3.5 or 4 inch catback that has an actual muffler?

They do dump before the axle. And I was thinking my only option would be a legit catback.

Really the only room is for straight through stuff . Which as i know does do much . i have a 3.5 bullet after the axle and it points down and its loud .

Eh, I was hoping there was another option since the bullets I have are supposed to be some of the loudest. Was trying to see if anyone had any luck with any of the oval type mufflers or something like that.

I had a set of 3" borla proxs mufflers on mine, both dumped, and ran under the axle out the back that weren't loud. Ill see if i can find the video.

I can't wait to see how my neighbors react to my 12:1 LS3 with a single 4" exhaust when Im done with it.

As far as quieter mufflers, you're pretty limited on what will actually fit with dumped duals. If they'll fit, the DBX flowmaster mufflers that Darth suggested would probably be some of the quietest you'll find. Or adding a pair of high flow cats to your current setup might knock the edge off enough to keep the bitchy neighbor happy for a while. I could understand someone having a complaint if you were out in the driveway late and night or super early in the morning banging it off the rev limiter for no reason but in the middle of the day, that's just someone who hates their own life enough to have to try and rain on everyone elses parade.

I ordered a pair of Magnaflow 4x9s for around town and in my garage. We'll see how that goes.

Go talk to your neighbor. He might work night shifts, that's the only reason I can think of why he would call the cops.

My car is straight pipes and shakes the walls of my house idling inside of the garage and the only time I've had an issue was with a pregnant neighbor who, in a distressed manner, expressed how stressful it was for her to hear my car. I talked to her a bit about it and she and I agreed week nights after 8 I wouldn't use my car, but weekends I was free to drive it as late as I wanted as long as it wasn't idling for an extended period of time.

I mean if he works nights 2pm is like 2am to them. Might be best to just introduce yourself and talk to him.

If he's just an 80 year old *** hole, then keep a sad story about your deceased father helping you build the car and how it's like a child to you. Pull some heart strings

I have Moroso Spiral Flows and they were among the quietest bullets I could find.

Straight through, bullet style.

They are medium volume with my true duals, not enough to have the cops called on, at all.

Cats will help too. Good idea. Or maybe just a pair of small resonators to break up that pipe

The cats wont like the C16 in the standalone. I ordered some magnaflow 4x9 mufflers to use at my house and around the neighborhood. I will switch them out to the bullets at the track. Really hate to do it but some people suck. And it's the lady that lives next door from me, she doesn't work.

It is evil to take pleasure in the woes of others, but I have to admit that your post had me busting my gut. Hope the Magnaflows do the job for you. I like Hooker Maxflows, but I think it's basically the same thing - straight through with a lot of packing around the pipe.

To bad someone didn't make the npp mufflers like my 08 vette had. Quite when you wanted and a push of a button and nice and loud. It was great if you went on long trips just put it in quiet mode. I had LG headers with high flow cats and with the mufflers open it was pretty freakin loud at wot.

The Magnaflows are quite a bit quieter and still sound pretty good. Sacrificed a little bit of ground clearance but oh well. Hard to quiet down a little bit of compression and a good sized cam through true duals.

Yes it is. That was fast if you already got them on. Pics?
