Default which intake for 4.8 build

I am in the process of building a 4.8 cammed for midrange power with 6k redline, prc stage 2.5 heads,36# injectors, built 4160e, factory 3:42 gears all in 86 Camaro.

I'm stuck with choosing the factory 4.8 truck intake vs ls6 intake vs fast intake. Which intake would be best for application?

I also plan to get a 6.0 shortblock later on down the line and swap everything over ....

The truck intake is fine for your application even with the 6.0 later.

I would favor the truck TBSS intake for you set up. Typically about $150 used with fuel rails and injectors. The TBSS out preforms the other truck intakes and the LS6 plus it's dirt cheap.

The tbss intakes use a 4 bolt 87mm tb. If you have a cable tb youll need a bigger tb and to fashion a cable bracket setup. It also doesnt have provisions for a return so that would need to be addressed also.
It all depends on what you have to begin with.
If you have drive by wire you would still need the 4 bolt tb and the torq rush throttle body adapter...and accomodations in the tune.

According to a ls1 intake comparison chart, there's not enough gain to warrant me to switch to a tbss intake. The test was done in a bigger throttle body also for the tbss tb...

I have a dbw throttle body on my 4.8. I think I will leave the intake, just have to find out how to get it under my 86 camaro hood..
