speed engineering true duals dumped just installed speed 1 17/8 long tubes and ORY connected to a flowmaster cat back, looking to see if anyone has any experience with speed engineering true duals that are dumped before the axle?
are they better than a cut out? should i just install a cutout?
noise level?is it too much for a street car?
looking for a sound clip if possible.

A friend has a 98 camaro with speed engineering true duals dumped. Inside the car with a calibrated sound meter the dBa never gets lower than 104 at any kind of throttle. At idle or cruising along it sits there at about 98. It's loud and drones. Sounds amazing outside the car though. He daily drives his, but I'd imagine it would soon get tiresome (it would of it was my car). I have true duals over the axle with rear exit and bullets and it's much quieter inside the car and doesn't smell either.

I had them on my 98 Formula with Speed long tubes. LOUD!! VERY LOUD! But they sounded mean. Clamps suck and if you are lowered don't get them. My car is lowered with Strano springs and the were so low that I had to take them off. Also you will have to mod under your back seats and drill holes to make the clamps work.

with my formula, I have the exhaust cut back and currently have no exhaust tips showing, just have a few inches of pipe then turn downs.
I dont think formulas look good with tips. just my opinion.

I have the cheap eBay dual dumps with bullet muffler on mine and it's quite tame at part throttle and idle. I love the sound too, I'll never change it up except for maybe side pipes down the road.
