Why 6.0s are so thirsty?

I understand that the latest big blocks with MPFI and coil on plug ignition(all of this just like on LS's...) they got far better fuel mileage. Just shows what good AFR control and a good hot ignition can do to any engine.

Hey Tusky...killer purchase. This i exactly what you needed to pull that Camaro!!
I have several customers that run or have ran this combo...(I live in ranch/farm country) They pull the $hit out of these things all day long. One of the only things I have had to do to these is replace leaking injectors. A couple of fuel pressure regulators. Other than that they are bullet proof.
Good find man.

Thanks my friend
As soon as the weather breaks I plan on spending some time on the truck. I've seen guys paint the stock wheels black and replace center caps with some shiny ones. Then hopefully i can find me a full size spare tire snd rim and throw it in the back of the truck. It makes a day to night difference and it's a cheap upgrade that looks golden. I can't stand the cold and this winter here this year is just down right brutal. I just ordered a LMC catatalog. I'm up at 2 am looking at CD players. I'm go hang out in the audio part of this website and see if one of those "gurus" can help me a decision on a CD player cause cassete players are just worthless period.

I've never been into the all-black wheel thing as it looks like a big black hole in the wheelwell. I DO like a black center with a polished or chrome (or silver painted) rim just to set it off, then a chrome cap and chrome lugs. But whatever you do will be fine! Have a good time with it!

BOOM! You have captured the look I like! Get you some trim rings like on this truck plus chrome caps and you have it NAILED my friend!
Gotta say that black paint job looks mighty fine too! But that's another deal...
EDIT- looks like you have the rings on your truck????

I agree but I believe altitude plays a bigger role than what people think. Also I think the gas octane rating plays a big role as well. I think all 91 octane gas is not really 91 octane.... you may pay what 91 octane but a tester may reveal it's 85 octane. These gas stations are a rip off.

Thanks for clarifying my statement. I be telling people that all the time about gas octane ratings and they look at me crazy like I don' know what I'm talking about.

Anytime you add alcohol to gasoline, the energy content goes DOWN. I think this is what you both are getting at. The octane is probably close to true, but the power potential is down.

I'm serious. Run a tank of 87 aviation grade fuel. You'll see.

Go to some gas stations the gas is yellow/gold color .... then go the next gas station down the gas will be clear as water. Both gas stations will claim/say the same exact octane rating.
