What water Pump?
It’s a gen 3 build with 823 heads, Holley 92mm sniper tb, and ls3 intake. It’s a drive by cable, obviously.
The truck water pump doesn’t work, and the car intakes don’t offer provisions for manual fan fitment. I’ve did this conversion before, but it was gen4 drive by wire, and had no problem with VVT truck pump.
I know this has been done by gobs of people. What did you guys use for a water pump and manual fan? Switching to electric fans isn’t in the cards for him financially right now...
If that wont work, you can swap a truck pulley on an ls1 pump. I've done this before.

I’ve heard of people attempting to change their pulleys out, with little to no success. You’ve done this successfully. Can you tell me how you pulled this off? Is it as simple as using a press?
There are a few styles of 98-02 f body pumps. Some have a pressed on rear cover, some bolt on. I've only used bolt on cover pumps. Some also have a grooved snout that you might be able to use a PS pulley remover, but never got one of those.
The biggest problem is removing the F body water pump pulley. There's barely any room to get between the pulley and water pump housing. I had to notch the pulley in 3 places to get 3 jaw puller on it. I couldn't figure a good way to get it in a press either. I suspect there a jig to press it off for rebuilding. I also had to cut through the bell of the pulley and along the shaft.
To press it on, remove the truck rear water pump cover. Support the bottom of the pump shaft using a small socket. Do not support it on the impeller surface, you'll just push the shaft down on the impeller. Press on the new pulley to the distance the old pulley was on.

Will a truck pulley work on an ls7 pump? I have a new ls7 pump in the shop, that I’d use if the shaft is long enough to hold a truck pulley.
Not sure if the tb will mount upside down, and the cables work. I’ll check that out. Thanks for your help. We may end up going electric fans, if we can’t figure something out soon. Gotta get this thing out of the shop.

I'm guessing the LS7 pump is corvette spacing. It has a very short shaft and doubt the truck pulley would go on with the correct truck spacing alignment.

Just be sure the LS1 pump has a bolt on back cover.
Btw did you notice the clearance issues with the TB/air intake, water pump outlet and the fan blade in my pics? Electrics are easier. The only reason I wanted the mechanical is that it was for a 68 C3 corvette. They have one year only, VERY small radiators and marginal cooling. I went with the mechanical because they move A LOT of air and I still added an electric with that.
With a truck, towing, etc. in the Silverado, might be worth it, but try flipping the TB first.

I know the 98-02 f body LS1 pump can have a truck pulley pressed on it for truck spacing in order to have the threaded snout for mechanical fan. That's what I used.
I have no idea if the truck pulley will press on far enough to work on the 2010 Camaro pump, but I doubt it.

Piece o cake. Drops right in like it was meant to go there. Works GREAT.

I still need to try flipping the tb over first.
I really appreciate all the help you guys are sending my way. I’ve never messed with gen 3 cable driven stuff very much, as you can tell.
