Anyway to force the fans to high speed when they are on ?

I am troubleshooting a cooling problem when the AC is on. The car normally stays under the first line (180) when driving with it off. Once I turn the ac on the temp goes to 210 and then some. I dont think the fans are kicking into high speed, so I was wondering if I can force it. Therefore I will have something to compare it against.

BTW I have replaced the radiator cap, and done a pressure test on the system. All is good.

your engine works harder with the ac on therefore will run hotter. the fans as far as i know have one speed but fan 2 kicks on after fan one and is a higher speed. i know an easy way to do it but u will get a trouble code and your coolant gauge wont work lol if you unplug the temp sensor on the driver head the fans will stay on. then after u let it run plug it back in and see what it says then u will have to delete the codes.

I bought the fan switch from SLP and it will let you turn on the fans, hi and lo whenever you want.

The 2 fans are BOTH 2 speed fans. They run on 6 volt and 12 volt for low and high speed. When my 02 was stock it would run cooler with AC on because that forces the fans on, even if the engine is cool. Now I use a 160 thermostat and lowered my fan settings so I'm running cool all the time. Have you done anything lately to your ride and now it overheats? If you think the fans are the problem check the fan fuses and relays under the hood. BTW when both fans are on high speed you can hear it 20 feet away, it's loud. Good luck

Many things done to the car, but this problem has been around for a while. Most likely the fans are not going to high speed because I cant hear them from 20 ft away. Now I just need a way to force them. I dont want to spend $21 on relays if I dont need them.

do you have a programmer you can change the fan temps? if not try and pick up a coolant sensor from somewhere cheap that you can plug in the factory unit and boil some water, set it in the water and that should make the fans come on their highest setting. if not the relay or whatever is prob done
