Default Camaro 68 LS1 / 4L80e, What stall and gear?!

Hello, I am curious What you would advise me for my stall and rear end gearing.

I got a LS1 with the LS6 intake, 243 heads, TSP Torquer V4 cam, 42lb/s injectors etc. Just A bolt on. I got an 4L80e automatic trans bolted on. I was thinking about a Yenko SS 3600 stall with the 3.73 gearing. I want A good street/strip car which pulls hard and got A good top speed. What would you reccomend?

Over here there are not many specialist for the ls swaps first gen and the right combinations!

Sounds like a good choice.

That sounds like a good set-up for the drag strip, but I wouldn't use it as a daily driver. With the .373 gears and 4L80, the engine will be screaming while cruising on the highway. The overdrive gear is larger, so your rpms will go up about 200. The .373 gears will raise your rpms another 200 or more. I lost at least 2 mpg on the highway when I swapped to the 4L80e, and I still have the factory gears.

My buddy used to run 3.73's with a 4k stall with the 4l80e on his HCI LS1. According to him it was a bit under geared due to the ratios in the 4l80e trans. He switched to a 4.30 gear and the car runs much stronger now.

Damn, difficult men. What is the best option for gearing? 3.55?

I'd do no less than a 3.73 if it were me. A 4.10 or 4.30 would be better for sure

Very similar. 243 heads, 230/232 cam, LS6 intake, full bolt ons, etc...
