Default Throttle bodies with idle bleed screw

I was looking in to getting a better throttle body but before I do I wanted to get some feedback from people that have experience tuning if having a idle bleed screw really helps with the tuning and driveability as much as these companies state that they do? Most are pretty pricey but if it's worth it then I'm willing to save the money to get one. I tried to find this info by searching before posting but had no luck, thanks for the help and below is a link of an example throttle body that I'm looking at

The most important thing is to find a throttle body that maintains the GM Idle Air Control Valve. I bought a holley throttle body that did not use the OEM IAC valve and I had to have it machined to accept it to get my tune working right. BOTH Holley IACs failed to work correctly and myself and the tuner spent weeks trying to trace the awful idle and we eventually figured it out. If the IAC functions correctly there should be no reason to adjust the bleeder screw a lot.

Trying to get a 6 liter idling correctly currently, with a new Holley 92. I’m glad you posted this.

Take a stock throttle body, stock IAC and the Holley up to a machinist and get them to match the hope. The Holley IAC is such a piece of ****. Damn thing is made out of plastic and doesn't even operate smoothly. I love the Holley 92 and Doorman LS2 intake set up now that everything is working correctly.

Having an idle bleed screw on an LS throttle body using a P01 IAC ECM is probably not a good idea.

you want good tuning and drive-ability with an aftermarket throttle body, you need to learn how the ECM uses the idle air count vs effective area scheme.

You don't necessarily HAVE to stay away from them. Just don't adjust the screw from wherever its set when its installed and the car is tuned. It just doesn't play a role in the overall airflow of these cars like the manufacturer want you to think.

i wouldn't bother with it, personally. it's a waste of money and would tempt the unknowing user to fiddle with it after it was tuned, which could cause all sorts of issues.

So glad I read this before I actually ordered one from holley. Going to be visiting a machine shop soon. My apologies for bringing this back from a while ago.

One thing about the Holley 92 is that it's smaller than a Nick Williams 92. In fact face to face, the Holley fit inside the NW TB.
