Default Best Y pipe for Pacesetter headers

I have been out of the game for a while and I know things change quickly. My TA has been sitting up for a few years and I am about to start getting it ready again. It has a reverse split cam in it, so exhaust is very important. It has pacesetter headers along with the old y pipe that basically just has one pipe dead end into the other. Horrible design. What is out now that would have the best flow and still connect to these. Pretty sure they are 1 3/4 with 3" collectors.

Sounds like you have a Pacesetter y-pipe as well. What I did to mine is had a Flomaster merge welded in, so now it has a proper merge. It made a big difference too

I do. Im sure the first one they produced, so it fits, but sucks as a merge. Is there any particular place the merge needs to be placed? An idea on what an exhaust shop would charge for this? Just trying to weigh out going this route or new Y pipe.

The FM merge is like $50, and I was charged around $60 for install if I remember right. The merge simply replaces your existing crappy one. The 3" in 4" out is your best bet.

My old Mufflex had the same flow master collector and then to a 4 inch to 3 inch reducer so it could be used with a 3 inch cat back.

Go with an X pipe and have true duels with bullet mufflers.

The best Y pipe is not one at all.

Why worry about a merge when you have a Y pipe that can have cutouts welded to it? Throw some DMH cutouts on there and call it a day. Merge no longer becomes a concern with cutouts open.

If you want to just buy a y pipe that keeps all your 3" and has a good merge, texas speed has one for $149

If you want big flow and still want to use a y pipe go with the flow master dual 3" to 4" merge and do a 4" cutout then reduce to the 3" catback. Or another option is do that and reduce to 3.5" and run texas speed's 3.5" single exhaust that goes out to dual tail pipes.
