I hope that it is an 80mm opening...that would match up with their 80mm TB that I already have on my car.

A question for those of you that read the GMHTP article...Does this get rid of the EGR sys? It looks like it from the pictures.

I have also been watching for news on this BBK "Mythical" intake.
How are their products for other vehicle lines ?

Can we confirm this part has been released?

I called BBK and could not negotiate my way through the machine.
I wound up with a free catalog. I did notice that the old"holly/weilnd" intake now promotes LS6 "like" flow and promotes its nitrous capability. The BBK promotes better flow.
The BBK "Mythical" Intake.
The legend continues.

a tb swap doesn't require tuning, most of the swaps don't, but tuning helps.

indeed. I did find out though that it will have EGR compatibility using a removeable plate or plug. I believe it will only be offered with an 85mm opening, but if you already have their 80mm throttle body it will bolt up no problem and provide more air than a stock throttle body. I think they are going to release it "soon".

I'm thinking about getting it too if the price is right. I dont buy into the heat soak and even though it weighs more than stock, if it makes more power than the LS6 and is cheaper than the LSX it will be worth it. A plus is that it can be ported and the exterior can be polished if you wanted.

If it flows better than the LS6 manifold (as BBK states) then you are basically trading more air flow for a "some what" higher manifold temperature. Sounds like a good trade when noting that the composite manifold runs extremely hot to begin and how long does it take the air to get sucked through the hot manifold anyway? And now this air is being sucked through the BBK unit even faster so it has less time to "heat up" to begin with.
I do not blindly buy into heatsoak either. The Holly did dyno lower than the LS6 when it was hot, but now Holly does not advertise more flow than stock it advertises it's NOS capability, etc...

I have never heard of anybody marketing a manifold that flowed less but stayed "a bit" cooler. That is essentially how one would have to market the ls6 vs the BBK. And I'm sure the vendors like the revenue that the FA$T manifolds and t-bodys bring in. This BBK manifold, if it even works (which we do not know) I think is under $600 and that changes everything.

If it exists.

Found a cool picture of the intake on this page, high resolution too!

Hey....check that out. No EGR port, and you can even read the 80mm on the throttle body. It looks pre-production to me though.

I wouldn't buy anything till I seen some independant dyno proof.I haven't seen enough good things from the fast system to make me shell out all that money for 20 at best or lower hp.Bottom line is 500-600 bucks aint cheap to me and dosent seem like your getting enough hp for your money.Better off going with a nos kit.If evrything is done right nos can be very safe for your car ,IF DONE RIGHT. There are soooooooo many people that give nos a bad name by not tunning, upgradeing your fuel system, timming control, checking A/F ratio etc. if all those things are done you can make a safe 150hp and run safe.Thats were my money will go untill magna charger gets the f-body kit done

Mmmmm....magnacharger. They suck for taking so long. Are they really working on it? I haven't been paying them too much attention since I heard the vette kit doesn't work for us.

The exact words i got from SDPC on the BBK SSI, were "We have been told Sept. 6th................Thanks, Brandon." This is when they said they will have them available to be ordered, still no words on the price or any type of intake/tb combination prices. Hope this helps.
