Any more news on the BBK SSI intake?

"Adds 12-25 horsepower over the factory manifold"
I agree with the others I'll believe it when I see it. I think Holley claimed similar results with their Weiand/Lingenfelter intake... then when Chevy High Performance tested it, it made 8 HP and 8 TQ less than than the stock LS1 nevermind the LS6... I think heat is a big factor... put your hand on my intake... then put it on one of the two LT1s I have... big difference. The LS1 is hot, but the LT1 will cook your hand.

Whats better? More "slightly hotter" air or less "slightly cooler" air ?
No results yet eh. I'll be sure to pin BBK down at SEMA, depending on what type of monkeys they send, it may be helpful....and thats a long time.
I know I'll be talking to Edelbrock on day uno.

I don't get it. People talk bad about the LS6 intake and then when the Fast intake comes out they act as if they are let down and then they want to find the next magical intake. It is alot like fat people. The look for a magical pill to fix all their problems but there is no magiacal pill.
Look at the sheetmetal intakes that are avaliable for the LS1 series engines. The give up torque for hp. They completely change the characteristics of the power band in a way that would not be beneficial for daily driving. The LS6 is not a bad intake and it will be hard to make the huge HP gains people are looking for when you have a long runner intake that is designed for compromise. It is not a all out HP intake like the sheetmetal intake and it is not all torque like the TPI of years past. It is a compromise for drivababilty and makes power in the RPM range the engines were desinged to be driven in. I for one think GM did a damn fine job and I doubt that we will see huge gains over the LS6 intake and keep the same type of powerband. I know the LSX/Wilson is making more power but you have to wander why is it so hard for the aftermarket to make an intake that is superior to the factory design.Maybe the design was not that bad afterall.

I agree. There is no denying the practacality of an ls6 intake. From any view point, hp is good, price is good, doesn't really affect mpg too much, and it is availiable and proven to run much better than the ls1 intake. I'll stick with it until it is big cubes time.

If it does better than the LS6 and doesn't get heat soak too bad I'd buy it over the ridiculously high priced FAST intake.

I'm not gonna stick my head in the sand on any new part just because the sponsors don't talk about it.
Especially an affordable intake upgrade.
If it is better than the ls6 and cheaper than the lsx case closed for us LS1 guys & thats the bottom line.
