Here's my flow testing results for various LS cathedral intake manifolds. All test done with the same ported 243 head.

Wow. Up to .55 lift, Dorman's doing the job, but past that, the TBSS takes over. Not bad for a truck manifold...
Edit- What happened to the ported Dorman LS2. Porting did NOTHING for it! And in some places it's WORSE!

I'll be moving from a stock LS2 with 90mm to a ported Dorman LS2 90mm on P&P valve job 243s from Thompson Motorsports. I would have expected the Ported Dorman LS2 be nearly identical to the 90MM LS6. Interesting stuff regardless. I feel pretty good for having under $400 in the intake and getting within 8% of the $900 Fast.

If the TBSS is what you have and it fits under the hood, KEEP IT. Not worth changing over to the Dorman LS2

There can be a little variation intake to intake or cylinder head to cylinder head etc.

This is the flow data for for the newer manufacturer Dorman LS2. One side of the intake was not ported and the other side was ported. The porting improved the high lift flow.

BBK came out before the LS6 to improve on the LS1 manifold. There is no more reason for its existence, lol.
What's interesting is the Dorman LS2, the ported DLS2, and the LS6 are all so close it would not be worth it to change from one to either of the others if you own one of them.

The BBK is better than expected for sure. Just imagine if a good Porter worked it over and matched to the head.
If one has an LS6 intake, $350 for the 90mm snout is a good upgrade in my opinion. Add ~$125 for a WARR 92 mm TB and for $475 it's a decent upgrade in many cases. Getting good drive ability out of the LS6 90mm is also easier than with some of the other intakes. That's based on my experience trying to get an LSXRT with a 102mm TB to drive well on a 383 LS1 stroker and also testing fast LSX 90/92 on the same set up. The car was my 91 RS with a drive by throttle cable with 411 / 2002 LS1 Camaro PCM. For a high rpm set up say 6800 -7000+ rpm, I'd pick a different intake probably the Fast LSX 90/92 if cable drive TB.
Dyno testing and track testing of course is better than flow testing as flow testing is a simple basic test.

How much would one possibly pick up at the track switching from a ls6 with untouched tb, to the ls6 90mm and 92mm tb? This may be the route I end up going rather than a fast for the time being.

Intake Air Tempersature : Plastic/Aluminum
Hi ALL, yes a great report of air flow WITHOUT ANY REFERENCE to Air Density !
I have found the "plastic" intake manifolds KEEP the air COOLER thus a more dense charge of air into the cylinder.
I have found the Aluminum intake manifolds ADD HEAT to the air thus a less dense charge of air into the cylinder.
There should be a study, here at LS-1 Tech, of the port air temperature increase for each referenced intake manifold ?
