Default Anyone got a source for used, stock bolts?

Just wondering if anyone had put together sets for sale or knew of a source. I'm in final assembly and I'm missing several items (accessory bracket bolts -truck style), cam cover, a few others. I bought a set of polished SS bolts for all of the exposed areas but I don't have everything.

Any decent fastener supplier should be fine.

Your local GM Parts Counter will have them though they will be expensive. Or while you are there, get the GM bolt part number and look up the bolt characteristics online and buy them somewhere else. I just hate putting these GM parts guys through this effort and then walk away. I usually buy them there to get on with my El Camino project and because I'm usually getting good advice from them for some other obscure question I have.

Fastenal has real stores, or you can shop online. Also McMaster.com (McMaster-Carr) has a good online selection. For non-stressed parts hardware store is fine, but obviously for the important stuff you want the right grade.

I just go to the salvage yard, They don't even charge me for the bolts as long as buy else, Or I'll ask what they'll charge for a handful of bolts and it's usually $5.

I bought a bunch of hardened all thread in the sizes needed and use nuts/spacers etc for fead and assorted brackets. Works good, fits every time, low cost, looks clean when you cut the rod flush with the nut ( not with the nut on mind you or it scratches the heck out of the zinc )

That's actually a good idea! Especially for those times when just the RIGHT length bolt just can't be found...

Missing parts or waiting for parts to arrive is the death of build momentum. I keep a LOT of hardware and fab materials on hand so when Im building I dont have to wait on anything. Lots of little tricks likes this. 1936 LS1 you can get stainless or chrome acorn nuts etc for appearance if any are on view

X2 for a salvage yard. I have a huge bucket of bolts from cars I've previously parted out. Bolts are one thing that are usually still good even on wrecked cars (unless the damage was in that specific area) so there's always a good supply from dead or wrecked cars.
