FWIW - on my 383 LS1 with a 229/229 cam, the whp difference peak hp in a Fast 90/92 and a 102 LSXRT was 1 whp. And ~3-5 wtq this was on a chassis dyno same conditions etc. Not exactly an LSXR but in the ball park. With a bigger higher revving cam, I suspect the LSXRT would have been ~ 5whp to 10who better than the smaller intake. Neither intake was ported. The Fast 90/92 was better drive ability wise.

Thanks for being honest about your results. Too often hype takes over forums.

I went from a fast 90 to a fast 102 and had next to no change with a bolt on ls6.

with that said the 102 is the nicer intake of the 2

Did you notice any difference at all in drive ability between the two intakes?
I assume you ported both intakes?

Both were ported and the 90mm tb offered no issues. The 102 was a ebay special so i did a little epoxing to make it drive like it should.

Hio, how much do you port on the 102s? Do you just do the insides of the runners, or have you ever tried shaving the "ribs" off the outside of the runners such as in these threads?

The 102's dont have that much to port more just shaping the runners to the ports on the heads and doing a little work on the snout.

Oh, dang, it would be interesting to see what kind of difference it made. You hurt the FAST or the whole engine?

The references I posted were on the 102's where they shaved the ribs on the outsides of the runners. My Mamo ported 102 doesn't have the ribs shaves off so obviously Tony doesn't mess with doing it on his ported intakes. Just wondering if that's for time/money reasons, or if it doesn't provide much gain for all the trouble.

I know I was just saying out of the box there's not much to Port on a 102 I've seen the threads on shaving the ribs and epoxying them just seemed like there wouldn't be much return on investment when it comes to work.

I usually just straighten out the runners and port match the runner to the head and open the snout a little. Is there more to Port I need to take mine off again to paint it anyways?

It just ends up being a fair amount of material that gets removed doing it like that.

I seen a pic of how much material Mamo takes out porting a 102 and it seemed to be a lot.
